Nixle is a community information service designed to deliver important and timely information to Citizens. This service delivers trustworthy, reliable and important real-time neighborhood-level public safety and community event notifications by web, e-mail, and cell phone (via text message). There is no Advertising or Spam Mail allowed in the service, the information you receive is based on your preferences and is designed to provide information that is beneficial to you and your family. The City of New Port Richey encourages residents as well as Water and Sewer Customers that live outside the City’s Corporate Limits to start utilizing this latest technology. The New Port Richey Public Works Department issues Nixle to notify residents and the surrounding communities of road closures, detours and construction projects that can affect residents and drivers traveling throughout the City. The Water Utility and Sewer Utility Departments use Nixle to notify residents & utility customers of emergency and scheduled water and sewer “shut-downs” for repair work and for precautionary boil water notices. Other notification that may be used by the Public Works Department are Reclaimed Water “shut downs” or repairs, Stormwater Flooding notifications, along with an Southwest Florida Water Management District Lawn Watering restrictions that have been updated.
