Policy For Submitting Public Records Requests

Criminal Discovery Request Notice: Please be advised beginning June 1, 2026, the New Port Richey Police Department Records Section will no longer be fulfilling requests for discovery made by defense counsel or defendants for criminal cases.  Pursuant to Rule 3.220 of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure, the Office of the State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit is the correct agency to contact regarding your request.  Please reach out directly to the assigned Assistant State Attorney for fulfillment of your discovery request.

Any requests for discovery made to the New Port Richey Police Department Records Section after June 1, 2026, will be processed as public records requests pursuant to Chapter 119, Florida Statutes and may be subject to fees and redactions.

To make a New Port Richey Police Department public records request: All police public records requests and background checks can be requested in person or using our online JustFOIA portal. The New Port Richey Police Department maintains a public records tracking system for processing requests. For convenience and tracking, we recommend using our JustFOIA portal.

All Police records and background checks requested in person can be submitted to our Records Section during normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (holidays excluded). A list of appropriate records custodians can be found here Chapter 119 Notifications(PDF, 39KB).
