The City of New Port Richey Police Department is a progressive agency that currently employs 46 sworn officers, as well as several auxiliary and part-time police officers. The Department has 26 civilian employees, to include Dispatchers, Crime Scene Technicians, a Victim Advocate, Code Enforcement Officers, Records Clerks, and other additional support personnel. The City of New Port Richey jurisdiction covers five square miles with a population of approximately 18,000 residents. New Port Richey is the hub of west Pasco County and is surrounded by an unincorporated population of approximately 240,000 Pasco County residents. The New Port Richey Police Department is the one of the largest municipal law enforcement agencies in Pasco County.
