13th Annual Florida Loquat Festival
Join Ecology Florida and New Port Richey FarmNet, with support from the City of New Port Richey, for the 13th Annual Florida Loquat Festival on Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sims Park, in and around historic Peace Hall.
This unique, one-of-a-kind festival is the only loquat festival in the United States and celebrates the loquat tree through education, local agriculture, and community connection. Guests can enjoy fresh loquats, preserves, and a variety of loquat-inspired products while learning about cultivation, uses of the fruit and leaves, and sustainable farming practices.
Throughout the day, presentations will explore topics such as gardening, wellness, and agrarian traditions, offering something for both enthusiasts and those new to the loquat. A variety of loquat trees will also be available for purchase, including affordable seedlings and larger saplings—arrive early for the best selection.
New this year, the Loquat Art Show returns, featuring local artists and works inspired by Florida’s agricultural heritage.
Additional events leading up to the festival include the Loquat Walk on April 6 at the New Port Richey Public Library and the Loquat Beer Tapping on April 8 at Cotee River Brewing Company.
Come experience this distinctive celebration of culture, community, and one of Florida’s most fascinating fruits.
