City Celebrates Public Service Recognition Week
Published on May 09, 2025
Celebrated the first full week in May since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week is a time set aside to honor those who serve our nation as federal, state, county, and city government employees. Throughout the nation and the world, public servants use this occasion to educate others about the work they do and why they have chosen public service careers, as well as the many ways government services make life better for all of us.
The City of New Port Richey celebrated employees all week. Along with daily activities to thank the city staff -- like the Kick-Off Breakfast, Wellness Wednesday, Giveaways, and Fri-Yay Celebration with ice cream -- the City of New Port Richey also honored city departments through daily social media posts on Facebook and Instagram highlighting different departments in unique ways.
