CLASSIFICATION STATUS: Exempt
SALARY: $82,500 to $94,500 annually
Under the City Managers direction the Assistant City Manager performs a wide variety of professional, technical and administrative functions on assignments relating to the operations and programs of the city. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, supervisory experience, organizational skills with a background in process improvement and specific experience and knowledge in various municipal government functions including: Personnel Administration, Financial Management, Engineering and Community Development.
The Assistant City Manager position is additionally responsible for advancing recommendations to the City Manager in respect to the development and implementation of short and long-range plans, objectives and priorities.
This position’s established salary range is $82,500- $94,500, depending upon the successful candidate’s background and qualifications plus excellent benefits.
Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration or a closely related field. Possession of a Master’s Degree is preferred. ICMA credentialed status is a plus. Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible executive management experience with at least five years of responsible experience as a municipal Department Director. Experience as an Assistant City Manager is preferred.
