The City of New Port Richey is proud to participate once again in this year’s Annual Florida City Government Week during October 18–22. The City of New Port Richey is proud to celebrate the Annual Florida City Government Week, Oct 18-22, with this year’s theme of “My City: I’m Part of It, I’m Proud of It.” The annual event allows cities and towns across the Sunshine State to celebrate, showcase and engage their citizens in the field of municipal government.

This week is a civic education event sponsored by the association of Florida’s municipal governments called the Florida League of Cities. Don’t miss this great opportunity for our citizens of all ages from 2 to 92 to learn how city services impact their daily lives and to bring awareness to the City’s role in contributing to the quality life in New Port Richey. Some of the activities City Hall is planning for that week:

• 10/19: City Hall reception at 6 pm with an opportunity to “Ask a Councilperson”, plus photo op including sitting in Mayor’s chair on the dais at City Council Chambers
10/20: Tour of City Hall, 4 to 6 pm, with advanced registration required as tour groups are limited. Please contact the City Manager’s office at 727-853-1021
• 10/22: Mayor Marlowe reads the kids book, The City That Talks, at City Hall during Library’s regular Rhymes to Readers Storytime
• Poster contest for Gulf Middle & High School students. Posters will be displayed during the week and winners act as honorary Mayor at the 10/19 City Council Meeting
• Highlights of city department on social media or website
• Start featuring various city employees of the on social media
• City NPR facts/history tidbits on social media
• Find out how to contribute civil service as a City Volunteer
