Officers who work in this bureau are assigned to patrol squads supervised by sergeants and corporals. The squads are scheduled to provide immediate responses to calls for service and emergencies 24 hours a day/365 days a year. The Patrol Bureau includes the department's two K-9 officers and two auxiliary officers. The bureau has a part-time marine unit that patrols the Pithlachascotee River and assists the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Port Richey Police Department and the U.S. Coast Guard with search and rescue missions. Some of the department's officers are also specially trained to perform bicycle patrols, when needed.
