The goal of purchasing is to provide an efficient and effective process in meeting the City's procurement needs. Purchasing is responsible for providing services to City departments to ensure that the procurement of specified goods and services is done in accordance with City policy requirements to maximize the value of public funds. Services include specification, preparation and review, bid administration & evaluation, bid notification, processing of all requisitions & purchase orders and contract administration.


1. To have contracts in place for high dollar or high volume purchases.
2. To provide a process to purchase small dollar items efficiently (credit cards,etc).
3. Incorporate the use of technology to facilitate the procurement process. (internet, etc.).
